2023.August. Collaborative fieldwork between research group members (G. Ledesma, M.G. Babechuk) and the Geological Survey of Newfoundland & Labrador (J. Conliffe, M. O'Neill) to sample stream waters in southern Newfoundland; part of a Targeted Geoscience Initiative-6 research project that will be led by new group member S. Sarkar starting in September 2023.
2023.June. I. Coxon undertakes Society of Economic Geology (SEG)-funded field research in the Huronian Supergroup in collaboration with researchers at the Geological Survey of Canada, Carleton University, and Dartmouth College.
2023.May. I. Coxon, G. Ledesma, and M.G. Babechuk attend the 2023 Canadian Geobiology group field trip based out of Elliot Lake. The trip focused on geological features in the 2.45-2.22 Ga Huronian Supergroup that capture Paleoproterozoic Earth surface redox and climate change.
